The ceiling and walls have had a coat of paint, the bar will be moved this week, so things are starting to take shape.

Building Progress

You will be glad to know that progress is good, obviously we would like to tell you that the builders are working all day and night and we will be open this weekend, but sadly that is not the case. They are however working as many hours as permitted by the council and getting on well.

As I write they are putting the new ceiling up and the walls should be done later or tomorrow ready for the plasterers to come in on Thursday. The bar still needs to be moved forwards and the pllars at the entrance changed/removed.

In the meantime we have set a bar up in the marquee and are serving 5 ales plus the usual Bitburger, Konig, Aspall, Licher and Kostritzer

Building update

Hi Folks

Just to remind you that we are finishing the building work during March so are closing at 11pm on Sat 25th Feb (Tomorrow) we are hoping to be open with a bar in the marquee from noon on Mon 5 March, hopefully it will be sooner.

Food will be available as the kitchen will be open

Next beer festival 28 March to 1 April while we still have the marquee

The floor has been sealed and the flooring will be laid over the weekend/Mon-Tues. We will be serving food from Fri 22 April. The 'conservatory' will be in use from Thurs 21st.

Well we are still waiting for the floor to be ready to have the the flooring put down. There are meters monitoring the dampness and hopefully it will be low enough tomorrow!!! Watch this space.

As from 4pm today the garden is open. You have to go down the passageway as there is no access from the pub yet. The man with the meter will be letting us know today or tomorrow if the floor is dry enough to lay the final flooring. If it is then hopefully the 'conservatory' will be open by next weekend.

The kitchen will be open at some stage, we will start re-fitting it when the flooring has been done

Well folks. Hopefully we will be open next weekend although without the kitchen. We are waiting for the floor to be dry enough to lay the top flooring. The doors are being fixed and lots of painting is being done today. The floor in the tap room should be done next week so lots more beers will be available.

Hopefully there will be something that you like there. We are fairly limited while the tap room is being finished so all ales are being served from the cellar using handpumps. It won't be long before we are back to full strength.
We will try and update the beers as we go but at least once a day.

Hi Folks, well it's been a couple of weeks since the last update. At one stage we thought we wouldn't be able to open until Tues but everyone has worked really hard and we will be open on Monday 28 Feb at 5pm. While the conservatory and kitchen are finished, we will be opening for drinks only in the bar area, which means that unfortunately no children will be allowed.
Hours will be Mon - Thurs 5 - 11. Fri 4 - 11. Sat 12 - 11. Sun 12 - 10.30.
While the kitchen is closed, please feel free to bring in a take-away, we can provide plates and cutlery if needed.
Hopefully the scaffolding will go up at the end of this coming week so the roof can be done.

Progress

Well folks, the roof has now been taken off the conservatory so hopefully it won't rain too much later on. We have discovered why the rain came in when there was a downpour, the brickwork had come apart and there was a big gap above the arch in the conservatory!!! Next week the interior walls will come down and the new walls will be starting to be built, inside and out, so more pictures next weekend.

Building Works

We now have a start date. Mon 24th Jan. This means the garden and passageway will be out of bounds from then until the work is finished. The whole pub will be closed from Monday 31st Jan and the bar only will re-open on Monday 28th Feb. We will only be able to serve beers from the cellar but you can bring your own food or order a meal and eat it at the pub, we can supply plates and cutlery.
The opening hours until the work is finished will be Mon - Fri 5 - 11.
Sat and Sun 12 - 11
So hopefully you will pop in and see the progress
